Construction

Every Signature commission is built on a full canvas — not half canvas, not fused. Full canvas throughout, hand-padded at the chest, with a floating interlining that is never glued or bonded to the outer fabric. This distinction matters more than almost any other in tailoring.

A fused suit, regardless of the fabric it is cut from, will eventually bubble and separate. The glue weakens with dry cleaning and body heat. A full canvas suit does neither. It drapes cleanly from the first wear and improves over time, gradually moulding to the specific contours of the body that wears it.

Your Signature suit begins with your measurements and is cut to fit you specifically. The style you select during your Fitting Session becomes the foundation. Your proportions determine everything else.

Fabric

The Signature fabric library draws from a carefully selected range of premium wool, wool-silk, and wool-linen blends across a range of weights appropriate for every season and occasion. Each cloth is sourced for its hand, its drape, and its durability — the qualities that separate fabric worth investing in from fabric that simply looks good on the bolt.

Fabric swatches are presented and discussed during your Fitting Session with Berny. You will see and feel every option before making a selection. The weight, the weave, the way it moves — all of it is part of the conversation.

Personalisation

Every Signature commission includes a meaningful range of personal choices. Lapel style and width, button selection, lining from the core lining library, and your monogram hand-embroidered at the inside chest pocket. These details are not afterthoughts. They are the difference between a suit that was made for someone and a suit that was made for you.

Your style is selected from Berny's curated collection of proven designs during your Fitting Session. Within that foundation, every personalisation choice is yours to make. The result is a garment with a defined starting point and a finish that belongs entirely to you.

A virtual consultation with Berny. You'll select your style, discuss fabric, and confirm every detail before a single cut is made.

Timeline

From your virtual Fitting Session with Berny to the arrival of your commission, the Signature process takes between eight and ten weeks. Every step within that window is purposeful — pattern drafting, fabric cutting, canvas building, assembly, pressing, and finishing, each done by hand and in sequence.

You will be notified when your commission ships, with full tracking provided. Your garment arrives pressed, packaged, and ready.

Attention to Every Detail

The interior of a LeCatou suit is as considered as the exterior.
Your name & initials, hand-embroidered at the chest, mark the garment as yours before it has been worn a single time.

The lining, selected with the same attention given to the outer cloth, is a private detail seen only when the jacket opens.

Every button is set by hand. Every seam is pressed individually. Nothing is left to a machine that a hand can do better.
